ADVANCED TEXTURING

TECHNIQUES

Use high quality textures to colorize your terrain artificially depending on terrain slope, height, mask and other criteria. Manipulate how the textures are combined and drawn onto the terrain. The World Creator for Unity version is compatible with Distingo and Relief Terrain Pack, with which you can achieve AAA quality terrain texturing.



World Creator ships with dozens of textures from GameTextures.com. You can use them in your own projects royalty-free.

IMPORT AND ENHANCE

EXISTING HEIGHTMAPS

World Creator allows you import an existing terrain through heightmaps. With this feature, you can enhance that terrain using all World Creator terrain filters and tools; or create different variations of it. There are unlimited possibilities!


Apply specific operations for imported terrains, such as addition, subtraction, inverse subtraction, average, and difference - each resulting with a different terrain output.


Check the images. On the left side of each image, a terrain using an imported heightmap of the Grand Canyon, with a resolution of 512 x 512 pixels, is shown. The terrain on the right uses this and has been enhanced with one or more filters. Additional variations can also be created - awesome!



TERRAIN SCULPTING

MADE EASY

Create your own terrain by defining only its basic shape, and let World Creator do the rest for you. This feature replaces the ISO-LINES of the previous version of World Creator and introduces an unlimited range of possibilities in detail you have never seen before. Further, masks can be used to create multiple terrain types depending on your defined terrain shape!


Check the images. The terrain object on the left side is a low resolution terrain created with standard sculpting tools. As you can see, we only sculpted a shape of our desired terrain. By using this terrain as input terrain for World Creator, you can see on the right how the shape was used during the generation process; and in addition, all applied filters were used to enhance the low resolution input terrain.

Terrain Filters are layer-based and can be combined in different orders. Filter specific settings can be adjusted through sliders to create beautiful terrains. In addition, masks can be used to combine mask specific filters.

Create real worlds composed of a wide variety of different terrain types, instead of only a map with a single terrain type. World Creator makes it possible. Create a combination of different terrain types, such as, mountains, desert, canyons, and many more, on a single terrain map. They are mixed seamlessly together making it looking real.
